Job Summary
The Production Manager at UIRI’s Namanve Campus (MMISDC) will oversee all production functions of the facility while ensuring that operations are efficient, effective and sustainable. The Production Manager will work in a dynamic and technologically advanced environment, interacting with various stakeholders, including staff, customers, trainees, and industry partners.
Job Description
- Plan, coordinate, and control all manufacturing processes and resources to efficiently service orders and achieve production goals.
- Monitor, document and optimize production workflows to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the facility, aligning production goals with broader organizational objectives.
- Supervise and lead a diverse team of engineers, technicians, operators, and trainees in production operations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits of production processes and outputs, addressing any issues promptly.
- Prepare budgets and reports for the production function of the MMISDC.
- Any other duties as may be assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years in a Senior Supervisory or Management Position in a reputable entity engaged in heavy-duty manufacturing.
- Professional accreditation with industry-relevant associations/bodies is an added advantage
