Most households in Uganda use wood fuel for cooking and heating which poses numerous environmental and health hazards, hence leading to the desire for transition to alternative clean cooking solutions. Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) and Raising Gabdho Foundation (RGF) developed a bioethanol stove prototype for a typical household.

On the 25th of January 2024 UIRI was delighted to host a group of volunteers from Peace Corps on an exposure tour of the Institute’s Nakawa and Namanve branches. The delegation was taken through an in-depth presentation of what UIRI as an insitute represents and aims to achieve

On 22nd January 2024, UIRI had the privilege of hosting a delegation from UNHCR, IGAD, and EAC volunteers for a familiarization tour of both the Nakawa and Namanve campuses to explore chances of future partnerships.
