At Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI), our Renewable Energy Training program is designed to equip individuals, businesses, and communities with the knowledge and skills required to harness sustainable energy solutions. The training covers a wide range of renewable energy technologies and practices that address the global and local challenges of energy access, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment.
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
Participants gain practical skills in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar PV systems. This training focuses on delivering sustainable energy solutions for lighting, powering small appliances, and community-scale energy needs.
Briquettes Production
This module teaches the production of eco-friendly briquettes as an alternative to traditional charcoal and firewood. Trainees learn about raw material sourcing, production techniques, and the environmental benefits of briquette usage.
Biogas Production
Participants are introduced to biogas technology, including the construction and operation of biogas digesters. This training emphasizes the use of organic waste to produce clean cooking fuel and organic fertilizers.
Solar Drying
This section covers the design, construction, and application of solar dryers for agricultural produce. Solar drying enhances food preservation, reduces post-harvest losses, and improves food security.
Improved Cook Stove Design and Fabrication
Training includes the development of energy-efficient cook stoves that reduce fuel consumption and harmful emissions. These stoves are designed to improve indoor air quality and reduce deforestation.
Solar Water Heating Systems
Participants acquire skills in the installation and maintenance of solar water heating systems for domestic, institutional, and industrial use. This technology promotes energy savings and reduces reliance on conventional water heating methods.
The Renewable Energy Training program is tailored for individuals, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and organizations interested in sustainable energy solutions. Whether you are looking to start a renewable energy business or implement clean energy projects in your community, this program provides the knowledge and tools needed to succeed.
