On 22nd January 2024, UIRI had the privilege of hosting a delegation from UNHCR, IGAD, and EAC volunteers for a familiarization tour of both the Nakawa and Namanve campuses to explore chances of future partnerships.
Our Executive Director Professor Charles Kwesiga and Deputy Executive Director, Dr. Dick Kamugisha and shared about UIRI’s core activities with emphasis on the need to develop region-specific technologies for raw materials, the need to expose students to industrial processes for skilled man-power in the market as well as the need to provide advisory services to the private sector and SMEs for industrial processes and technologies.
