The Civil Works division is responsible for: maintaining the institute’s campus infrastructure including structural renovations; managing the design and construction of off-site production and processing facilities; and the supervision of construction works carried out by contractors.

- Mushroom Production facility in Kabale
- Eco-gel facility at UIRI
- Peanut butter facility in Lira
- Fruit Juice facility in Arua
- Gable top filler at UIRI
- Boiler house at UIRI
- Foundry facility at UIRI
- Potato Processing facility in Kabale
- Meat Processing facility in Busia (renovation)
The Civil Works division took part in the supervision of the World Bank funded Uganda Millennium Science Initiative (MSI) project to remodel the institute’s Engineering Workshops and Microbiology Laboratory.
