Our team
The executive team provides strategic leadership across UIRI's research, production systems and product development mandate.
Professor Charles Kwesiga is the Executive Director of Uganda Industrial Research Institute.
An Industrial Engineer by profession, he has significant experience as a corporate manager, management consultant, educator and entrepreneur.
Ms. Joanita Orishaba is the Director of Industrial Production Systems at Uganda Industrial Research Institute.
She joined UIRI as a junior researcher and worked her way up to the Management Team.
Mr. Ratibu Asuman is the Director of Product Development at Uganda Industrial Research Institute.
Before this role, he served as Quality Manager of UIRI's Analytical Chemistry Laboratory.
Leadership focus
UIRI's executive leadership supports the institute's applied R&D work, technology diffusion, process and product development, business incubation, contract engineering services and practical industrial support.
