Uganda Industrial Research Institute

The Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) is a government parastatal under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC).

UIRI’s core activities focus on establishing platforms for value addition; product development; process design; sourcing technologies; fabrication of machinery; managing processing plants; provision of SME outreach services; and business incubation.

MMISDC- Namanve Campus

The Machining Manufacturing Industrial Skills Development Centre (MMISDC), nested in the heart of the Kampala Industrial and Business Park, is one of Uganda’s most promising interventions for industrial growth. The facility boasts of modern infrastructure that is premised to serve the dual function of churning out technology-based products while at the same time developing industry relevant technical skills.
