The Civil Works Supervisor provides effective, efficient and quality technical support to the operations of UIRI civil works projects.

Duties

Key responsibilities

  1. 01Monitor and control civil works, ensuring adherence to standards, regulations and contract specifications.
  2. 02Design, interpret and explain plans, drawings and design documents to stakeholders.
  3. 03Prepare Bills of Quantities for construction or rehabilitation of structures.
  4. 04Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular safety inspections.
  5. 05Prepare and maintain status reports for projects under implementation and completed projects.
  6. 06Coordinate contractors, consultants and staff to ensure smooth project execution.
  7. 07Participate in bid evaluation and make recommendations based on technical specifications.

Eligibility

Requirements

  • BSc in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised university.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in civil engineering, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Professional registration with Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers or a similar professional body.
  • Project management certification such as PMP.
  • Experience with construction software such as Procore or Autodesk is an added advantage.
