Dr Catherine Wandera graduated with a Doctor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland, in 2010. Her area of specialization is manufacturing and she has done extensive research in laser materials processing.
Dr Wandera has published papers in reputable peer-refereed journals in the manufacturing discipline and in an international conference in science, technology and engineering. She has experience and expertise in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) manufacturing, having done extensive research in laser materials processing and worked on the production floor of HT Laser Oy, a high-tech equipment manufacturer in Finland.
Her research interests include optimization of manufacturing systems and processes for quality, productivity and energy efficiency, developments in production technologies, materials engineering, and product and process design. She is also passionate about mentorship of students in applied research and general career guidance.
