Board profile
Professor Charles Kwesiga is the Executive Director of the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) and an industrial engineer by profession. With extensive experience as a corporate manager, management consultant, educator and entrepreneur, he oversees UIRI's activities including technology transfer, product development, business incubation and applied R&D.
He holds numerous distinguished roles, including membership on the UNECA Advisory Council for Africa Technology Transfer Networks, President Emeritus of WAITRO, and Special Presidential Advisor for Productivity and Competitiveness.
Prof. Kwesiga has also served as board chairman for several institutions, taught at the Senior Command and Staff College, and led UIRI to recognition as a Centre of Excellence in R&D for the East African Community.
